Is our soils vulnerable to drought?
printLocation: Europark Maribor
Time: 14:00 – 21:00
Many regions of the world have very poor conditions for food production. That is why it is essential to know the basic soil charachteristics that affect its fertility. Millions of people are dying in Africa, because they are not able to produce their own food.
The participants will learn how to determine soil charachteristisc with the use of simple methods. Everyone can use this methods to analyse their soil. We will listen to the soil, »count« it, pour acid over it, measure nutrients and estimate the access of this nutrients to the soil.
There will be an emphasis on simple processes to recognize soil charachteristics and to determine what do we have to change to make the soil more fertile.
