Researchers Night 2017 – NIB Open Door Day

For Researchers' Night NIB will open its doors to the general public. Guided tours of the three departments will be held every hour between 14:00 and 19:00. Meeting point will be at the reception of the main building of the Biological Centre. You will visit:

Department of Biotechnology and Systems Biology whose research is aimed to gain insight into these complex biological systems and unravel their interactions, with focus on transcriptomic studies and combining them with proteomics, metabolomics and functional genomics. Fields of the research: GMO- Genetically  modified organisms, Microbiology and Systems Biology.

Department of Genetic Toxicology and Cancer Biology where research is being carried out in ecotoxicology, genetic toxicology and cancer biology. Within the framework of these basic fields they investigate the water ecosystems and the pollution effects, the damages of genetic material and the origin and development of cancer diseases.

Department of Organisms and Ecosystems Research whose fields of research are: Neurobiology, Insect Communication, Eco-physiology, Bees and Wild Pollinators, Early Detection of Wood Destroying Pests, Taxonomy,  Freshwater ecosystems, Terrestrial ecosystems and Nature Protection.
