The Mediterranean is a sensitive region which does not withstand high environmental loads. Nature conservation and farming in this area thus represent a special challenge. While biologists working at the Department of biodiversity are primarily focused on protection of endangered plant and animal species and ecosystems, researchers from the Department of applied natural sciences mainly engage in studies of genetic characteristics of Mediterranean cultural plants and in plant protection, and sustainable oriented farming. In the occasion of the SciFe we will present our research activities by the following workshops:
